Cancellation policy

If you cancel your trip, the cancellation policy is effective immediately. The total refund depends on the cancellation policy set by the owner. There are three cancellation policies that owners may apply to their bookings (Flexible, Moderate, and Strict). The owner’s cancellation policy will appear on the boat listing and during the check-out process.

Flexible

  • Free cancellations until 24 hours before the booking start time.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the booking start time are non-refundable.

Moderate

  • Free cancellations until 5 days before the booking start time.
  • 50% refund for cancellations between 3-5 days before the booking start time.
  • Cancellations within 2 days of the booking start time are non-refundable.

Strict

  • Free cancellations until 30 days before the booking start time.
  • 50% refund for cancellations between 15-30 days before the booking start time.
  • Cancellations within 14 days of the booking start time are non-refundable.

In the event of extenuating circumstances, you may be entitled to a 100% refund.

Trip modifications

If the date of the booking is edited, the cancellation policy carries over to the new start date. However, if the edit took place during a cancellation fee period, the original policy will apply to the rescheduled date in the event of a cancelled booking.

This can be confusing, so we’ve put together a few scenarios below using our moderate cancellation policy as an example.

  • On September 4, a renter reschedules a booking for September 10 (moderate cancellation policy) to October 10. Because this is more than five days in advance, they are still able to cancel the rescheduled booking before the five-day moderate cancellation window activates again.
  • On September 7, a renter reschedules a booking for September 10 (moderate cancellation policy) to October 10. Because this is within 3-5 days before the booking start time, the renter will only be eligible for a maximum 50% refund should they cancel the rescheduled booking before the new booking date.
  • The morning of September 10, a renter reschedules an afternoon booking on September 10 (moderate cancellation policy) to October 10. Because this is within 2 days of the booking start time, the renter will not be eligible for a refund should they cancel the rescheduled booking before the new booking date.
