This is the rate price the owner sets for a booking.
Renter service fee
A service fee is charged on each rental. The service fee is applied to the price before any coupons or credits are applied. This fee helps Boatsetter provide a safer and more secure booking experience, as well as dedicated customer support throughout your charter.
Renter insurance fee
Select boats may require additional insurance to book. This fee helps cover the cost of insurance.
All bookings with a captain include a captain fee. This fee is reflected in the price of the booking when a captain is selected.
Some US states require Boatsetter to collect a tax for rentals that take place in those states.
A security deposit is held on the renter’s card to cover any incidental damage or lost items. The hold is placed on the card 48 hours before the rental and is released 48 hours following the conclusion of the rental if no claim has been filed.
All domestic boats will be charged a 10% listing fee based on the boat price. All international boats will be charged a 15% listing fee based on the boat price.
All boats will be charged a 20% listing fee based on the boat price. If the owner has at least one boat available via Instant Book or has at least an 85% response rate, the listing fee is 12.5% based on the boat price.
Owner insurance fee
If your boat is under the Geico P2P insurance policy, an insurance fee will be deducted from the owner payout. This fee helps cover the cost of this insurance.
Additional fees & fines
Renter no-show fee
If the renter is a no-show after one hour of the agreed start time, the owner has the ability to cancel the booking. Boatsetter will treat this as a renter cancellation. See full cancellation policy.
Owner no-show / Boat in bad condition fee
If the boat owner does not show up to meet the renter and make the boat available for the renter at the agreed upon rental start time or if the boat is in an unacceptable condition, Boatsetter will treat this as an owner cancellation and can charge the owner up to $100.00 per no-show.
Renter late fee
If a renter returns a boat after the agreed rental period ends or arrives late to the start of the rental, they can be charged a late fee. This late fee is calculated by combining a one-time administrative fee of $30.00 plus the prorated hourly rental rate (based on the daily rental rate for the boat rented) plus applicable insurance charges.
In the case that the owner’s fuel policy is not followed, Boatsetter will charge the renter for fuel replaced as well as a $30.00 administrative fee.
Boatsetter charges processing fees on any additional payments processed on behalf of the owner. This includes fuel, damage/security deposit payments, or other miscellaneous charges. The current processing fee is 2.70% + $0.55 per charge.
