# Navigation limits

The following navigational restrictions are in place for each vessel insured under the [Buoy Peer-to-Peer Insurance Policy](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/buoy-peer-to-peer-insurance-HJJP3Pobll) while on the water:

*   Use only the inland and coastal waters of the Continental United States of America
*   Not exceeding 12 miles from the nearest shoreline

Vessels under their own [commercial insurance policy](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/using-commercial-insurance-S1QNLJohs) may not be subject to these restrictions.

_Please note that Buoy does_ _not cover trailers or trailer liability_.
