You will need to provide Boatsetter with the following information in order to get your vessel listed and approved:

*   Vessel information (make/model/year/length)

*   Boat Registration Number
* Vessel address (where renters will meet you/your vessel)

## **Peer-to-Peer Insurance: Buoy Coverage Guidelines**

All vessels must meet the following requirements in order to be approved by the [Buoy Peer-to-Peer Insurance Policy](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/buoy-peer-to-peer-insurance-HJJP3Pobll).

### **Vessel Eligibility**

* **0–22 feet:** Up to 10 years old, 1 engine, max 350 HP
* **23–32 feet:** Up to 15 years old, up to 2 engines, max 600 HP
* **33–89 feet:** Up to 30 years old, up to 2 engines, no HP limit
* Boats over 33 feet are required to have a USCG-licensed captain at the helm during charters
* Vessels outside these criteria may still be listed using a commercial insurance policy (see below)

### **Policy exclusions**

Your Boatsetter listing may be denied or may require additional documentation for manual review under [Buoy’s Peer-to-Peer Insurance Policy](https://www.buoy.rent/national-coverage) if it falls into any of the following categories:

* Vessels over 33 feet that are not operated by a USCG-licensed captain
* Vessels designed for racing or experimental use
* Vessels that have been customized, modified, or altered from the original manufacturer specs
* Vessels with attached apparatuses (e.g., flyboards, dinghies, parasails) — these may not be covered
* Vessels not kept in seaworthy condition
* Vessels without an underlying insurance policy maintained by the owner
* Homemade, repurposed military, or converted vessels
* Jet Skis, Sea-Doos, and all Personal Watercrafts (PWC)
* Hovercrafts, hydrofoils, hydroplanes, and submersibles
* Airboats, canoes, kayaks, jon boats, and boards
* Performance boats, jet boats, racers, and cruiser racers
* Shuttle crafts and crafts attached to another vessel
* Multi-hulled sailboats (e.g., catamarans, trimarans) must be listed as captained-only to be eligible. If not captained, they will be automatically rejected.

## **Commercial Insurance Requirements**

Owners using their own [commercial policy](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/using-commercial-insurance-S1QNLJohs) are certifying that the vessel/company meets all U.S. Coast Guard standards and regulations, as well as state minimum insurance requirements. Owners using a commercial policy need to submit a copy of their insurance declaration page through our [Contact Form](https://boatsetter.kustomer.help/contact/contact-us-rybdP8n5i) for verification before activation on Boatsetter.
