# How to set your baseline boat price

Owners have complete control of the boat price for each rental duration you offer. The duration options are **2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and 8 hours**. When a renter sends an inquiry or booking request, they select from the durations you choose to offer.

Prices may vary based on:

*   Vessel type, age, and make
*   Amenities or add-ons available
*   Location
*   Duration
*   Holidays

Search for similar vessels in your area to try and get a sense of boat prices. As a new owner, you may want to charge lower rates to attract renters comparing your listing to ones with reviews. 

To edit your boat price, navigate to your **Owner Dashboard > My boats > Edit listing > Durations & pricing > Edit**.

## **Why is my hourly rate on the search results page different from what I set?**

For marketing purposes, the hourly rate displayed is a breakdown based on your longest duration (e.g., full-day rental). Example: If an 8-hour trip is $3,160, the system calculates and displays this as $395/hour.
