# How to edit an inquiry (Renters)

> If you inquire about a boat by clicking the Message Owner button you will have the option to edit the inquiry from your message thread with the owner

If you inquire about a vessel (by clicking the “[Message Owner](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/messaging-an-owner-HJLWLkons)” button), you will have the option to edit the [inquiry](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/booking-states-rJrWUJs3o) from your message thread with the owner.

Navigate to your **Messages > Find the message thread with the owner > Click “Edit Inquiry” on the right-hand side**.

When you click “Edit Inquiry,” it will show the existing booking details and an option to **edit the start date and start time.**

After you click “Save Edits," a message will be sent to the owner informing them that changes have been made to the booking details.

A couple of things to note:

*   Changing the date will automatically reset the start time. 
*   Editing the inquiry may result in changes to the [boat price](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/price-breakdown-and-fees-Bk5bIJsni).
