# How to deactivate your boat

Deactivating your vessel will remove it from search results. The site may take up to one hour to update your preferences.

To deactivate or activate your vessel, navigate to your **Owner dashboard > My boats > Edit listing > Availability > Scroll down to Boat visibility > Toggle "Active" to "Inactive”**.

You also have the option to permanently remove your vessel from Boatsetter. _Please note: This will not delete your Boatsetter profile_. To delete your vessel, navigate to your **Owner dashboard > My boats > Edit listing > Availability >  Scroll down to Boat visibility > Delete boat**.

If you’d like to completely close your Boatsetter account, navigate to **My account > Delete my account.**
