# How to cancel a booking (Renters)

To cancel a booking, navigate to your **Bookings > Find the appropriate booking > Click "View booking details" > Scroll down to "Cancel booking" and fill out the required information**.

Once canceled, the appropriate refund will automatically be issued depending on the owner’s [cancellation policy](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/cancellation-policy-ryTZ81jno). In the event of an [extenuating circumstance](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/cancellations-due-to-extenuating-circumstances-B1TIyo2j), you must contact Boatsetter Support through our [Contact Form](https://boatsetter.kustomer.help/contact/contact-us-rybdP8n5i), and we will review your cancellation and refund request.

You may also cancel [pending](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/booking-states-rJrWUJs3o) booking requests that have not yet been approved by the owner by following the same instructions as above. Once canceled, your booking request will be rescinded. Canceled requests cannot be made active again. Should you change your mind and wish to complete the booking, you must [submit a new booking request](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/how-to-book-a-boat-SJOW81i2o).
