There are various booking states on Boatsetter that mean different things. See below to learn more about each one.

## **Approved**

The booking is accepted and fully confirmed in the owner’s calendar and payment has been collected. Once bookings are approved, personal contact information is made available on the booking details page and the [Onboard Document](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/locating-your-onboard-document-SygfIyshi).

## **Pending**

You have submitted your payment information and the owner can choose to approve or decline the booking request. Pending booking requests will expire after 72 hours if no action is taken. Pending requests are not a booking confirmation and payment is not taken until the owner has approved the request.

## **Inquiry**

You have chosen to simply “[message the owner](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/messaging-an-owner-HJLWLkons)” and have not yet entered payment information. Both you and the owner can [make edits](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/editing-an-inquiry-rJCZ8ksno) to the inquiry details. From here, the owner must pre-approve the renter. After pre-approval, you must enter payment information to finalize the booking.

## **Pre-Approved**

[Pre-approval](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/pre-approval-rkwZLkihj) is the result of submitting an inquiry rather than a booking request. This allows owners to give advance approval before payment is collected. You and the owner can have multiple pre-approvals for each time slot. Therefore, the vessel will not be reserved until payment is submitted and the booking terms are accepted.

## **Aboard**

The booking is currently in progress.

## **Canceled**

The booking has been canceled and is no longer active or approved. These cannot be reversed. Should you wish to make a new booking, you will need to create a new booking request. ## **Expired**

The rental date has passed and the trip was not approved or declined by the owner. Expiration can also occur when a pending booking request is not approved by the owner within 72 hours. You are not charged when this happens. For help with an unresponsive owner, please [click here](https://support.boatsetter.com/hc/en-us/articles/4412294743309-Unresponsive-owner).

## **Concluded**

The booking is complete and the deposit has been released. To learn more about deposit holds, please click [here](https://support.boatsetter.com/hc/en-us/articles/205348914-Security-deposit).

## **Unverified**

We require additional verification details from you before the booking can be approved. To learn more about unverified bookings, please click [here](https://support.boatsetter.com/en_us/renter-identity-verification-rkmbLyi2s).
